About the Expedition in Detail
A journey along Russia’s most famous tourist route — a wonderful opportunity for travellers to discover unique architectural monuments of ancient Russian cities that have survived to this day. These lands eventually became the heart of the Moscow Principality and later the Russian State.
This trip is a unique chance not only to touch the ancient history of our country but also to see traces of more recent events and to understand how they have shaped our country and society.
The Route
From August 15 to 20, participants will visit 6 cities of the Golden Ring plus Moscow.
They will admire architecture, picturesque landscapes, and art — but what sets our programme apart from a regular tourist trip?
In addition to the aesthetic component, the expedition includes an educational programme: students receive daily assignments, and in the evenings they discuss what they have learned and seen — in English.
Travel Map
The route and all the cities participants will visit are marked on the map. Travel between cities will be on comfortable electric trains Lastochka (Swallow) — from Moscow to Vladimir and from Rostov to Moscow — as well as by private bus reserved exclusively for our group.
The Cities
All of these cities played an important role in the Russian state at different stages of its history. This is evident, for example, in the fortresses built there. Three of them are well preserved and known to us as kremlins: the Moscow, Suzdal, and Rostov Kremlins. In other cities — Plyos, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, and Vladimir — the fortresses are less well preserved or not preserved at all, but they have still shaped the character of these cities.

Safety begins with awareness of potential risks. This is precisely what allows the Consortium schools to conduct safe and productive educational expeditions year after year.
