July 13 (Day 7 at the camp)
By Daria Berseneva
I’d like to start today’s entry with a description of yesterday evening. My phone wasn’t working. The neighbours next door were playing music, which gave me an idea. Before going to sleep, I sang the song “Katyusha” to little Katya. Katya was very pleased. Then we went to bed. And this morning, I discovered that Ekaterina Ivanovna was missing! I got scared that our noisy Azerbaijani neighbours had kidnapped my Katya! But it turned out that Katya had simply gone to wash her face, and I realised that I shouldn’t worry about her.
Then we got up and went to morning exercises. I just sat there because I’m a dumpling (well, you remember). Maxim tried to get me up, but I won. The kid came here to rest, and they make him do exercises in the morning!
After exercises, we went to eat. When we all finished, we waited for Ivan Alexeyevich as usual — because we arrive at and leave the dining hall together as a group. Of course, unless someone overindulged in sweets and ran off to eat charcoal.
Then we went to the sea. I went into the water wearing my clothes, and that was fun. Afterwards, everyone went to the shop, but I stayed behind because I was drying off. And that was not fun.
After lunch, we all went to English class. When Mikhail and I finished our English lesson, we had some free time to take a walk or lie down in our room. But Sofia, Maxim, Denis, Katya, and Ivan had maths class (I sympathise with you!). I believe that maths is hell. Denis said in the evening that maths was his favourite part of the day, Maxim forgot all the numbers and was upset about it, and Sofia once again gave us advice to study everything on time so we don’t fail our exams.
When they finally finished maths, it turned out that Mikhail needed to see the dentist. After afternoon snack, when Mikhail and Elena went to the dentist, Maxim was left in charge. We had to choose: the pool or active games. We decided not to go anywhere and just sat in our room.
Then Elena and Mikhail returned, and we went to dinner — but we didn’t have to wait for Ivan Alexeyevich, because after dinner we went to the shop. As we walked back to the camp, it started to get dark and the streetlights came on. Sofia and Katya said it was atmospheric and that we should take photos, especially since our make-up looked good — but we got carried away with talking and forgot.
Then we went to our reflection session, where we read messages from our parents, guessed who wrote them, and gave each other compliments. Katya and one of the boys thanked their parents for organising everything, paying for it, and sending us here.
Well, that’s all — time to sleep.
