Elena had prepared study materials, and we began getting to know each other by completing tasks and giving each other advice. Max confidently told me: “You have to speak up, even if you’re scared!”

It’s a good thing our flight route was like this: Surgut — St. Petersburg (2-hour layover), St. Petersburg — Sochi (6-hour layover), Sochi — Antalya. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have had the chance to get to know each other so well and grow closer. We did manage to get some sleep on the plane, although Ivan urged us not to waste time sleeping during the last flight — after all, there was so much to discuss and do!
During the layovers and flights, we discussed our musical preferences, listened to each other’s favourite music, and came to the conclusion that music says a lot about a person! At the airport, we were all sent to have a meal together, and that turned out to be another bonding experience! The “younger” and “older” ones turned out to have common preferences. Some people even ate three times! Sofia talked to everyone and tried to involve everyone in the conversation. Later, we had an English lesson about Surgut, and I realised that English isn’t boring — and that I, too, can participate in a conversation, even though I don’t study at “Lingua” like the others. While we were studying, people in the waiting area kept turning to look at us with interest, and when we started playing Mafia, one lady even joined us. It turned out she (her name is Valentina) was the best mafia player! Where do you think Valentina is from? Surgut! And when she found out that we were also from Surgut, from “Lingua,” she smiled and said she should have guessed it right away.

No, it does matter who you travel with! What’s important is who’s by your side! Our team helped each other carry bags, shared treats, and drew each other into conversations! And Elena treats us not like children, but like adults. Not all teachers are like that. Thank you, parents, for sending me to TURKEY, to CAMP! The camp — that will be the diary of the second day. Ivan will write that one. And we’ll share our thoughts with him!
